Northlake Mandeville Rotarians have obtained a Rotary District grant and support from five nearby Rotary clubs for the last 4 years to purchase and build a playground for children whose parents visit the Safehaven campus in Mandeville for mental health services. Over 5,000 people obtained services at Safehaven in 2022. Shown here are 6 of the 9 elements which will comprise the playground. Also shown in the background are white totes containing the rubber mulch which forms the floor of the playground. Rotarians are meeting on Fridays each week to complete the installation of the equipment. A fifth grant will be applied for in May to purchase benches, additional mulch, borders to contain the mulch, and to refurbish and convert the tennis court shown in the background to pickle ball courts.
