Last Friday on February 24, 2023, Rotarians worked again on the playground we are building at Safe Haven for the children of those being treated for mental issues.
The difference was that on Friday we were assisted by four young people from the Louisiana Conservation Corp. LCC is part of Americorp and is like the old Civilian Conservation Corp. These young people helped us load and distribute 300 cubic yards of rubberized mulch which will be the floor of the playground. They were highly motivated, had positive can-do attitudes, and worked hard the entire morning. They were a joy to work with. Our country will be in good hands with young people like them. With their help, we were able to load wheelbarrows and spread 30% more mulch in half the time versus the previous week.
Thanks to Breana, Jo, Emily, and Hunter! They are scheduled to help us for another day in April.
