On Saturday, Sept 28, 2024, members supported the STOPS 5k Walk/Run held in Abita Springs. After a Strategic Community Needs Assessment, one of Rotary's primary initiatives has been to address and improve mental health in St Tammany Parish. STOPS is St Tammany Outreach for the Prevention of Suicide and is one of the several projects by our club aimed at improving mental health in the Parish. Project Chair Jeanne Schramm created a team of Rotarians to help raise money for STOPS. The team including Jeanne Schramm, Kathy Smith, Bob Matthews, Marty Audiffredd and others, walked/ran and enjoyed the festivities. The Northlake Mandeville Rotary club also provides an additional four figure donation annually to STOPS.
